my PRIORITIES
As your representative in Parliament, I am committed to delivering progress for people in oakville East.

This year conveys one simple truth: Canada is strongest when we stand united. That’s why our government took bold action to introduce legislation that eliminated all federal barriers to interprovincial trade and labour mobility this Canada Day. The One Canadian Economy Act will lower prices by up to 15%, boost productivity by up to 7%, and add up to $200 billion to the economy. By creating one Canadian economy from thirteen, we are unlocking Canada’s full potential and building the strongest economy in the G7; an economy that leverages our natural resource strength and protects our security and sovereignty. That’s how we win a trade war – one we didn’t ask for, but from which we will never back down.

Our government is holding those who commit crimes accountable, because the safety of Oakville East and every community across Canada is non-negotiable. We have taken decisive action to strengthen our borders, limit bail for repeat and violent offenders, combat organized crime and fentanyl trafficking, and disrupt illicit financing. Here at home, I have convened a community roundtable to address crime in partnership with Oakville’s elected representatives from all levels of government and law enforcement. We are setting aside partisan politics to solve the inter-jurisdictional safety concerns that our community is facing.
In addition to this, our new government is rebuilding, rearming, and reinvesting in the Canadian Armed Forces. With this $9 billion investment in defence, Canada will achieve NATO’s 2% target this year. To hit this target, we will improve recruitment and retention, to bring our Armed Forces to 71,500 Regular and 30,000 Primary Reserve members by 2030. We will also expand and enhance our military capabilities, strengthen Canada’s relationship with the defence industry, and diversity our defence partnerships. Announced at the June 2025 NATO Summit, the renewed Defence Investment Pledge reaffirms our strong commitment to NATO by investing 5% of GDP by 2035. As the world grows more dangerous, Canada will lead with values the world respects, and an economy that leads the G7.

Our government’s middle-class tax cut is putting more money back in the pockets of 22 million Canadians. Our cancellation of the capital gains inclusion rate further recognizes the vital role that entrepreneurs and small businesses play in shaping Canada’s future. In addition, our government has maintained the increase in the Lifetime Capital Gains Exemption limit to $1,250,000 on the sale of small business shares. We are delivering support for Canadians that goes beyond lowering taxes. This means protecting the Canada Child Benefit and Early Learning and Child Care Program for Canadian families – programs that not only help working families by reducing financial burdens, but also promote gender equality in the workforce. This also means doubling the pace of home-building to 500,000 new homes each year, and eliminating the GST for first-time homebuyers on new builds under $1 million. These supports are essential to making life more affordable for everyone.
